About Me

Spread the love

For 30 years, I resided on the land of my youth near the country town of Brimley in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I was surrounded by childhood memories and a way of life that is no more. Instead of relying on intricate plots and schemes, my stories are driven by the characters and their interactions with each other, their teachers, and their parents. The authenticity and innocence of my “kids” will remind adults of days gone by.

Currently I write a monthly column for the Drummond Island Digest and a weekly column for Gannett Media’s Petoskey News-Review. In 2016, I authored Life in a Tin Can, a random collection of previously published columns. Since then I’ve penned five news books published by Modern History Press. Previously my work appeared in the U.P. Reader, a UPPAA publication.
